The 10th Transportation Company, 260th Quartermaster Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, was deactivated Thursday during an afternoon ceremony at Hunter Army Airfield’s Tominac Fitness Center.
Approximately 100 soldiers in the company have been reassigned to other units as part of restructuring by Army Forces Command. The company was activated at Hunter Army Airfield on Oct. 6, 2006.
In 2008, the company deployed to Kuwait for approximately one year to support Operation Iraqi Freedom.
One year ago this month, 75 10th Transportation soldiers deployed to Haiti for two months to support United Operation United Endeavor following a devastating earthquake that injured and killed more than 500,000 people and left close to 1 million people homeless.
