Area veterans and others attended a Prisoner of War/Missing in Action ceremony Friday evening at Marne Garden on Fort Stewart.

The ceremony included a reading of the 29 names of Georgia Vietnam veterans who are still listed as missing by members of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 789.

Retired Sgt. Maj. Adna Chaffee with VVA Ch. 789 hoped that the ceremony would help attendees take time to remember what POW/MIA stands for and to bring awareness to those still missing.
