Food Network star and celebrity baker Ashley Vicos will be making one of her elaborate, over-the-top cakes for Fort Stewart soldiers and their spouses as they celebrate the season Dec. 10 at the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum in Pooler.
Vicos, star of “Have Cake, Will Travel,” owner of Sweet Ashley’s Bakery in Atlanta and a five-time champion of TLC’s “Ultimate Cake Off” will be making a cake and attending as the guest of honor at the winter formal for soldiers of Bravo Battery, 1-9 Field Artillery, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team from Fort Stewart.
The soldiers of Bravo Battery reached out to Vicos for help through a creative video on YouTube that depicted them preparing a not-so-perfect cake for their formal. The video sparked the attention of Vicos and Dawn Foods, which is sponsoring Ashley’s creation.
