Multiple agencies are investigating the death of a Fort Stewart soldier, according to a Third Infantry Division Public Affairs media advisory released Wednesday evening.

U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Camden County law enforcement officials are coordinating their efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of Spc. James Willis.

"The Third Infantry Division expresses its deepest sympathy and condolences for the family of Spc. James Willis.  The loss of a soldier or family member within the Marne Division is a deep tear in the fabric of our community," the advisory said.

The Marne Division will actively assist all external law enforcement agencies requests for information, and the 3rd ID is currently providing support to Willis' family.

The release did not offer any more information.
