Optim taps new CEO

Optim Health System, headquartered in Savannah, with more than 20 facilities across southeast Georgia and South Carolina, announced Thursday the appointment of David W. Perry as chief executive officer, effective immediately.

An accomplished healthcare executive, Perry has more than 17 years of healthcare executive management experience including chief financial officer, chief operating officer and chief accounting officer.  He has served as interim CEO since May 2018 and as Optim Health System’s chief financial officer for the previous three years. 

“Optim Health System has an exceptional team of surgeons, physicians, clinical and administrative members working in partnership to provide the highest quality care to our patients,” Perry said. “I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead this team in growing our Optim network and the communities we serve.”

Prior to joining Optim, Perry had been part of the executive leadership of VeriMed, InScripts Consulting Solutions, NewHope Bariatrics and MedCath Corporation all based in Charlotte, N.C., as well as Drugscan based in Horsham, Pa.  Perry began his career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche in 1994.

Perry holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Optim Health System’s network is a collaboration between Optim Orthopedics and the nationally recognized Optim Medical Center-Tattnall and includes Optim Medical Center-Screven, Optim Imaging, Optim Therapy and Optim Surgery Center.
