Enjoy time on the water with friends

Hi, friends.

First, I would like to wish my good friend Rayburn Goodman a fast recovery. He is in my prayers. The Goodman family and the Branch family have always been close friends. God bless them.

Now onto some reports. The weather has cooled off and the fish are biting. Some folks don’t like to have their names published in the newspaper, but they still like to tell me about their catches. A good fellow I know caught the limit on spottail and about seven nice trout.

The dock tour has been going well. Lu Smith and Blake Waters caught some trout, spottail bass and a few flounder last weekend — not a bad day from the hill. Boo Hall, Geff Branch and I had good time landing eight black drum and six spottail, and Boo Hall caught a doormat flounder. Capt. Hippie and I went out last Sunday and netted three black drum and two nice spottail bass.

Well friends, you best get out there with friends and family and enjoy these nice days. Yellow Bluff still sells live bait and I hear they have live shrimp and minnows. Mr. Don at Half Moon has live shrimp. Sunbury Crab Company and Marina has live shrimp and minnows, and Big Rudy at the Sunbury Country store has fresh frozen shrimp, cigar minnows and bally hoo.

Remember what Ol’ Tight Line always said: Get out there and go fishing and, if you do, always remember to keep a tight line. I always say hit the dock, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down. Go wet a hook — it’s good for you.

Your buddy,

Tight Line Jr.
