Coastal fishing improved in the past two weeks; we had more fishing activity this past week, and the fisherman landed trout, bass, and sheephead.
Rayburn Goodman, Yellow Bluff Fishing has several fishing reports this past week: Billie Muse fishing with David Baker landed 15 sheephead and 2 black drum, 2 bass and 2 trout. Mark Dewey and party caught 16 trout. Randy Anderson and party had 30 trout and 4 bass. Allen Reddick caught 15 trout. Roy Redmond caught 12 trout. Al Bradshaw, fishing with Jimmy Beasley and Gene Jefferys, landed 45 sheephead.
I had a couple of catches from Planting Hammock. fisherman Don Clapsaddle, fishing with Larry Caddy caught 6 trout. My son, Donny Branch, fishing from S dock, landed a 8-pound Bass.
Rayburn Goodman reported having live minnows, and he is going to try to have live shrimp and fiddlers for the weekend.
I have a few more fishing reports from Yellow Bluff Fishing Camp: Micheal Ray caught 12 trout. Bing Phillips, fishing two days with Robert Moody, landed 60 trout and 7 bass. Randy Anderson, fishing with Bob Pirkle and party, caught 30 trout. Roy Redmond had 15 trout. Allen and Eddie Reddick caught 30 trout and 4 sheephead.
It looks like the trout and bass are starting a little early, and that is good. We had a mild winter, and the water temperature is already warming up.
We should have good fishing for the rest of January, through April.
Just remember if you do go fishing, to always keep a tight line.
