I received some fishing reports this week and was glad to them from several fishermen.
Clayton Boyer fishing with Billy Davis landed 12 trout and one whiting. Mack Harper fishing with Treavor Jowers and Marcus Young caught seven spot tail bass and 10 trout. John Rogers, fishing with Rip Grinstead, landed 30 trout and seven bass. Mr. Ginterthe, a famous photographer, and daughter Lu Smith, who fished for two days, caught 18 trout.
I just read in the paper about the DNR going to outlaw half-inch cast nets in 2009.
I do not believe the half-inch cast nets are having any impact on the shrimp fishery. All they are doing are depriving the fishermen from catching some shrimp for fish bait and a few to eat.
Just to remind you if you do go fishing to always keep a tight line.

PS - Well friends, the Tight Line Jr. dock tour featuring Al Ramsey and Wayne Ramsey landed 12 spot tail bass, eight trout, one black drum and four sheephead. Hope to have photos next week.
We would not have had   the energy to pull in the Big One without a hot bowl of my sister’s low country shrimp and rice.
