It is hotter than fish grease
CoolandSpicyShrimp

That`s right, friends and neighbors, the heat is on the rise. Watch out and take care of yourself in this hot weather.
I don’t have much on the fishing side this week with the hot weather and such.

I do know that the “whiting are biting!” So if you do get out on the saltwater, be sure to have plenty of ice cold fresh water to drink.
The O.T.L. rule has always been get out there early so you can get back to the hill early, and stay hydrated.
I thought I would throw out a cool recipe for the hot weather.

Cool and spicy shrimp cocktail

2 tablespoons virgin olive oil
1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
¾ cup coarsely chopped fresh ginger
¾ cup brown sugar
1¼ cups Heinz ketchup
¼ cup Chinese chili bean sauce
Lemon wedges for serving

Directions:
In a saucepan, heat the oil. Add the onion and cook over moderately high heat about 4 minutes. Add ginger and turn down the heat about 3 minutes. Add brown sugar, ketchup and chili bean sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes.

Transfer the sauce to a blender and add ½ cup water. Blend until smooth. With machine on, add ½ cup more water, then scrape the sauce into the saucepan and simmer about 3 minutes over low heat.
Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until chilled. Squeeze lemon over shrimp and serve over a nice bed of Romaine lettuce.
Serve this with a nice bottle of chardonnay. It will be a treat for you and a big hit with all your friends.

Remember what Old Tight-Line always said: Get out there and go fishing, and if you do go, remember to always keep a tight-line.
That’s it for this week friends.
