The Hinesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is hosting a free Go Red bowling event from 3-7 p.m. Feb. 25 at Marne Lanes Bowling Alley on Fort Stewart.

The event is open to all members of the community

The annual Go Red event draws more than 50 participants to the Army installation each year.

"Old and new guests of the event can expect this year’s event to be just as exciting as the previous years, and the chapter has added a youth category to the event this year," Hinesville Alumnae Chapter President Petula Gomillion said.

Youth who attend this year’s event will pay a reduced fee and will be awarded trophies within their age categories. Youth up to age 12 will compete, and youth between 13-19 years old will also compete for a trophy.

Hinesville Alumnae Chapter plans and coordinates "numerous community events designed to raise funds for national organizations like the American Heart Association as well as the chapter’s scholarship fund," Gomillion said.

Members from the Hinesville Alumnae Chapter will be at the fundraiser to answer questions about the chapter and all of its upcoming community events, including the 30th anniversary celebration and its May Week activities.

During the bowling event, door prizes will be given and information about how to protect from heart disease and strokes will be passed out.
