A Florida woman can count her blessings this morning after she was dragged under a tractor trailer on northbound Interstate 95 in Liberty County.

Georgia State Patrol Trooper Carl Hutchinson said the woman, identified as Elizabeth Caputo, 20, of Park Lake, Florida, told authorities she was traveling to Savannah to visit friends. She fell asleep while she was in the left lane, then drifted to the right lane, where her white Dodge Stratus became wedged under a tractor-trailer.

Hutchinson said the 18-wheeler dragged the car 858 feet before it stopped on the side of the interstate near mile marker 77. Caputo suffered minor injuries and was taken to Memorial  University Medical Center in Savannah. Hutchinson said Caputo, who was smiling after making it through the ordeal, is expected to be released from the hospital.

No charges will be filed, Hutchinson said.
