Atlantic Area Court Appointed Special Advocates will hold training classes for Liberty, Long and Bryan county volunteers from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. every Friday from May 13-June 10 at the Liberty County Health Department conference room on Hwy. 84 in Hinesville.
CASAs are appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interest of children who have been abused or neglected in juvenile-court proceedings.
To volunteer, a person must be least 21 years old, pass a background check, participate in an interview with one of the CASA staff members and complete 30 hours of training and 10 hours of court observation. Verbal, written and computer skills are a plus.
To attend the training, call Jessica Moody at (912) 876-3816 or email moodyatlanticcasa@centurytel.net. For more information, go to www.atlanticcasa.org or find CASA on Facebook.
