Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Elpidio Fratichelli was involved in a collision with a minivan after 3 p.m. Friday on East Oglethorpe Highway near Gen. Screven Way.
Georgia State Patrol Trooper Sgt. John Snipe said Fratichelli, driving his cruiser in the eastbound lane, was dispatched to a call and  turned on his lights. He entered the center turn lane, and another car turned into the center lane from Flash Foods. Fratichelli swerved and sideswiped a 2012 Ford Edge driven by Brittney Aldridge before colliding with a 2005 Chevy Venture in the westbound lane.
The vehicle contained Pilar Odria and her 8-year-old daughter. Aldridge was not hurt. Odria was treated at a hospital and released.
