Recent reports filed with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office inlcude:

Sept. 6
Hit-and-run report — A man said he walked out to his driveway in the morning and discovered the front-right quarter panel of his 1996 Pontiac was severely damaged. The car had been parked at his Lewis Frazier home all night. He thinks someone used his driveway to turn around and hit his car.

Sept. 7
Vehicle fire — A woman was driving her car northbound on Holmestown Road when she noticed a small fire emanating from the passenger compartment. She stopped the car and called 911. By the time the fire department arrived, her car was engulfed in flames. She was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center for a checkup. The vehicle was extinguished and towed away.

Verbal dispute — A woman said her drunk husband came home and ruined supper after starting an argument. She said he plated up dinner for the two children and then threw the remaining food in the trash and down the drain, saying, “If I can’t have any, she ain’t eating any.”
The husband said his wife told him he wasn’t allowed to eat, so he fed the kids and tossed the rest of the food. He agreed to leave the house for a while.
