The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is on the scene of an officer-involved shooting death at a residence on the 100 block of Briar Branch Drive in Wayne County.  

Special Agent in Charge Stacy Carson said the deputy responded to a call but could not provide details at this time.  Shots were fired, and the male resident was killed.

The shooting took place around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
