Domestic disturbance, verbal dispute
Slayton Circle, Hinesville
Officer James Williams responded to a report of a verbal dispute and spoke with a woman who said her husband threatened her. She said he told her he could kill her and get away with it. The woman said she did not want to file any charges but wanted the threat to be reported. The officer reported that the husband had left the house before he arrived.

Darsey Road, Hinesville
Officer Victor Maldonado explained warrant procedures to two women when a fight between them led to a car window being shattered and the women yielding knives at each other. The officer did not make any arrests. Both women had conflicting stories of how and what started the fight.

Theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, theft by taking (beer)
Frank Cochran Drive, Hinesville
Officer Gail Standard, along with several assisting officers, responded to a report of a man carrying a gun outside of Subway's. Standard spoke with the man who said his gun was inside the hotel room where he lives. When the assisting officer asked if he could check the man for weapons the man allegedly confessed the gun was into his pants at his back. The man said he was upset because he bought a case of beer and placed it on the ground while he walked into Subway's to get a sandwich. He said three men in a van pulled up. He said when he walked back outside his beer was gone and the only ones there were the men in the van. He reportedly told the officers he walked to his hotel room, got his gun and came back to get his beer back. Officers discovered the gun was allegedly reported stolen in Alabama in 1996 and the man was a convicted felon wanted in another county. He was taken to jail. Meanwhile the other reporting officers found the three men in the van and found that they had a case of beer. The beer was confiscated as evidence.

West Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville
Officer Norman Ewing reported he arrested a man allegedly found in possession of items taken from the Wal-Mart without paying for them. The items amounted to almost $50. Loss prevention officer Anthony Rogers said he saw the man take the items and then try and leave the store.

Shoplifting
West Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville
Loss prevention officer Anthony Rogers reported he saw two women leave Wal-Mart with purses they did not have when they first entered. He said they walked into the parking lot and one of the women saw they were being observed and threw her purse into a garbage can. A few minutes later he said he watched the other woman throw her bag under a parked car. Officer Dennis Poulsen was dispatch and briefed by Rogers before he found and talked to the women. The officer recovered the purses that he reported contained several different articles of clothing, allegedly taken from the store. One woman was arrested and taken to jail. The other woman, reportedly a juvenile, was released to her grandmother.

Officer Jonathan Parker said he read a text message sent by a woman to her former boyfriend saying she would cause a scene at his house whenever she wanted, including in front of their son. The man said she had caused several scenes at his house lately because she is upset that he has a new girlfriend.
