A Hinesville resident was killed in a single-vehicle wreck early Sunday morning on Interstate 95, Savannah-Chatham Metro Police reported.

Metro's Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the wreck on southbound I-95 near Exit 94 just before 2 a.m.

Investigators believe Kaneesha Williams, 23, of Hinesville, was driving south when she lost control of her Ford Explorer. The SUV swerved several times before overturning into the tree line on the right side of the road.

Williams’ passenger, Alexis Johnson, 19, of Hinesville, was ejected from the vehicle as it flipped, police said.

Johnson’s injuries were fatal. Williams was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.
