Angel C. Wilson, 19, of Hinesville, was injured in a single-car accident on Wednesday.
Wilson was driving a Ford Focus south on I-95 in Bryan County at about 9:30 a.m., when she apparently lost control of her vehicle and hit a guard rail, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Chad Gray.
“Witnesses said she was in the middle lane and that a tractor trailer was driving alongside her,” Gray said Thursday. “The tractor trailer had its blinker on and was preparing to switch lanes.”
Gray said the truck never made contact with Wilson’s vehicle, but that it started to come into her lane.
“She basically overreacted and jerked the wheel to the left and lost control,” Gray reported.
“It was just inexperience (driving) on her part. Witnesses said she had plenty of room and could have eased over,” he said.
Gray said Wilson was admitted to Memorial Health University Medical Center. Hospital spokesman Michael Notrica said Thursday she was listed in fair condition.
