The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two people of interest stemming from an incident on Sept. 2 at the Sherlock Self Storage in Fleming.
According to Det. Julie Hibbeler, two men walked into the storage facility’s office and demanded money from the female clerk. Hibbeler said the clerk reported the men were unmasked but wearing sunglasses when they entered the business at 100 Brights Lake Road.
The clerk told authorities the men tied her to her chair and taped her mouth. They rolled her into another room where she told them they would find the money in a closet.
The crime allegedly occurred about 12:30.
Another witness reported the robbers then fled in a Chevy pickup described as deep burgundy, which could be confused as brown. But the witness was certain it was a deep burgundy color. The witness also recalls the vehicle having a loud muffler.
The clerk was able to offer a description of the men to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation sketch artist.
One suspect was described as an older black man, in his late 30-40s. He stood around 5 feet 11 inches tall and had short black hair.
The second was described as black and in his mid 20-30s. He has a medium build and is approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall. At the time if the incident he had corn rolls in his hair.
Hibbeler said anyone with information should call 876-4555.
