Possession of marijuana

Police stopped a white Cadillac that was traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer ran a check of the driver’s license and found it was suspended and the driver also had an active warrant in Brunswick. The officer asked for consent to search the vehicle and found a bag that contained a leafy green substance that looked like marijuana. The driver was arrested and the evidence was given to MACE drug task force agents.

MACE agents found two bags of what they believed was marijuana inside a gray Nissan Maxima a deputy had stopped for a broken taillight. The driver could not find his license and when the deputy looked inside the vehicle he saw the driver had some green leafy residue on his shirt. The driver also had two juveniles in his car who later told the agents the driver put two bags of marijuana inside a bag of potato chips when he was being pulled over.

A deputy saw a Dodge truck traveling at a high rate of speed and passing other vehicles. The deputy followed the vehicle and turned on his emergency lights, but the driver continued driving. The officer then turned on his sirens but the tuck continued to travel, until he parked in the driveway of his home.  The officer got out of his patrol car at the same time the driver was stepping out of his truck. The man was told to get down on the ground. When asked why he failed to stop, he said he just wanted to get home. The officer noticed the man had slurred speech, his eyes were glassy and there was an odor of alcohol coming from him. The deputy was read the DUI implied consent but the man refused testing. He was arrested and taken to jail where he refused to submit to a breath test. The man carried a key ring with a white tube shaped key chain with a screw top. Officers opened the top and found pills that were identified by MACE agents as controlled substances.

Someone took 28,800 feet of insulated copper wire and 2,500 feet of bare copper wire, worth an estimated $27,000, from a locked storage container. The thieves cut the handle off the storage container.
