Nov. 25: Fleeing, theft by receiving stolen property, and possession of marijuana — A man was arrested near Lake George on several charges after being stopped for a tag light violation. A patrol officer turned on his lights to initiate a stop and the driver took off at an estimated 45 mph though the posted speed is 25 mph. The officer followed the driver to the 360 block of Pine Ave., where the vehicle stopped and the officer attempted to block the driver from exiting. The driver wiggled out of the car and attempted to run into the home but was stopped by threats of a Taser. The driver was arrested, and upon search officers found marijuana and a handgun that was reported stolen in South Carolina. The driver was taken to jail, where he was booked and charged with tag light violation, driving too fast for conditions, fleeing and attempting to elude an officer, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of stolen property.

Dec. 1

Burglary (commercial) — Someone broke into Ida Mae’s BBQ in Flemington between 6 p.m., Dec. 1 and early Dec. 3. The owner reported when she began opening the business Monday morning, she noticed the two middle doors were open, but the locks were still in place. She then noticed a side door had been kicked in and the screen on a screen door had been cut. A search of the restaurant at the time of the investigation found nothing missing.
