Crime-Scene-Tape

Aug. 8

• Theft by taking – felony — A theft was reported in Isle of Wight when the complainant said she noticed some of her rings were missing. The woman said her house didn’t appear to have been broken into, and nothing else was missing. She said the last person who was upstairs besides her was an exterminator.

• Kidnapping, armed robbery — A deputy was dispatched to Holmestown Road in Midway in reference to a home invasion. The complainant had a large lump on his forehead when the deputy arrived and his hands were bound with packing tape. He said that he was sitting on the front porch of his house when three men wearing all black clothing and black masks approached his house. He noticed two of them carrying shotguns, and the other one had a handgun. They pointed the guns at the complainant and told him to go into his house, gather up his children and take them into the first bedroom. One of the men reportedly struck the complainant in the head with the handgun, causing the lump on his forehead.

The complainant said he was forced to lie on the bed, while the children were told to look at the window. The complainant began having an asthma attack, so the suspects put a fan in front of his face. They took the complainant’s wallet, Medicaid card, house keys, a cell-phone and about $600. They eventually left, but the complainant was unsure of where they went.
