• Arrest dates: Aug. 28 and Sept. 18
According to Multi Agency Drug Task Force Unit Commander Al Cato, agents conducted an undercover operation in Midway that started in August. Agents allegedly purchased cocaine from Shakeil Walthour, who was arrested Aug. 28 at his residence.
Agents searched the home and allegedly found a .38 caliber revolver in a bedroom, a misdemeanor quantity of suspected marijuana and $1,503 in cash.
Walthour is charged with sale of cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana. His case has since been referred to the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Bureau in Savannah for further review under project cease fire.
The investigation also resulted in the arrest of James Waye on Aug. 28 at his home. He was charged with two counts of sales of cocaine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Waye’s probation was revoked and he was sentenced to five years confinement and five years probation.
MACE agents were still looking for another suspect. They issued a “Be on the Lookout” for his whereabouts, which led to the arrest of Michael Bacon on Sept. 18 at a residence on Holmestown Road. Agents questioned the homeowner, Jessica Golden, who told agents she did know where Bacon was. But Cato said Bacon was spotted peeking out from a window of the residence.
Golden was charged with hindering apprehension and battery on a law enforcement officer. Bacon was arrested without incident and charged with sale of cocaine.

• Arrest date: Sept. 13
MACE agents conducted a month-long undercover operation, surveilling a residence in the 300 block of Brantley Drive where they suspected narcotics were being distributed. After several controlled purchases of crack cocaine, agents got a search warrant for the residence. On Aug. 17, they found a .25 caliber revolver and digital scales that contained a residue amount of suspected cocaine.
During the search, Antwang Knight, Christopher Todd and Kevin Sanders were arrested. Agents continued to search for an additional suspect, and Daniel Williams was eventually arrested on Sept. 13 in Hinesville for sales of a controlled substance.
