A Walthourville man was injured Sunday in an ATV accident.
According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Sgt. 1st Class Robert Balkcom, Emanuel Herrington, 37, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Hardwick Road in Walthourville when he applied the brakes and lost control of the ATV. It flipped and threw him off shortly after 6 p.m. When Walthourville police responded to the accident scene, they found Herrington bleeding from his head.
He was flown to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah by a medical helicopter. He is in stable condition, according to Balkcom, who added that the victim faces charges of DUI, traveling too fast for road conditions and operating an unsafe vehicle.
