A wreck early Thursday in Liberty County seriously injured a man, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Shortly before 3 a.m., the man was driving west on Highway 84 in a 1992 Ford Ranger, veered into a ditch and hit a culvert about a quarter mile from Bill Carter Road. The vehicle bounced out and airborne, striking a telephone pole.
The pickup then over turned onto a residence’s lawn, ejecting the driver.
The Indiana native had not been identified by name Thursday. He had, though, apparently been stationed at Fort Stewart at one time and was taken to Winn Army Community Hospital.
The GSP trooper said the man he was later flown to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah where he was listed in critical condition Thursday.
