A man was shot and a suspect quickly taken into custody Saturday afternoon, Liberty County Sheriff Steve Sikes said.

A man was shot in the abdomen on Holmestown Road. The suspect attempted to flee but was captured by responding deputies at the intersection of Holmestown Road and West Oglethorpe Highway, Sikes said.
