Fleeing and attempting to elude/speeding/driving on the wrong side of roadway

Multi-County high-speed chase ending at Youmans Drive, Sunbury

Georgia Sate Patrol, Liberty County Sheriff’s, and Long County Sheriff’s officers were involved in a high-speed chase that reportedly began in either Wayne or Bryan County. The suspect vehicle reached speeds in excess of 115 mph and weaved in and out of oncoming traffic. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed into a tree at Youmans Drive and Island Highway, but the suspect attempted to flee on foot and had to be Tased by police. Arrested was 26-year-old Rashon Spencer, a registered sex offender from New Jersey. He is currently at Liberty County Regional Jail on a $6,845 bond. The reason for the initial chase has not been verified and to date the finalized report from Georgia State Patrol is not available.

Pedestrian under the influence
March 12
Salters mobile home park, Walthourville

Deputies responded to a call about a female possibly under the influence. The subject was found stumbling in the middle of the road, clearly intoxicated, irate and boisterous. Deputies found a cold can of beer in her jacket pocket and placed her in the patrol car to take her in. Deputies reported she was belligerent and yelling obscenities all the way to jail.

I-95 exit 76, Midway

A deputy who was patrolling the area noticed a green Honda improperly parked on the shoulder of the northbound exit ramp. The driver appeared to be impaired and was very nervous when the officer asked him to step out of the car. He continued to place his hands in his pockets even after the deputy asked him not to. Finally he was placed in handcuffs and a search of his person revealed a knife and a pack of cigarettes that had a marijuana cigarette inside. In the car police found more marijuana and smoking devices, he was placed under arrest and taken to jail.

Disorderly conduct
March 19
Wayside Turn, Midway

Deputies responded to a call of a disturbance and found two men fighting inside a camper. Both men were intoxicated, admitting they drank half a bottle of vodka. One of the men was bleeding from his mouth due to the injuries he sustained from his drinking partner. Due to his tendency for violence, police handcuffed and arrested the men.
