Fleeing and attempting to elude/speeding

Shuman Road, Hinesville
A gray Nissan traveling at a high rate of speed tried to elude deputies when they tried to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the Nissan proceeded at a high rate of speed through Groover and Ray roads until the deputies saw him returning to Highway 196 and turning turn onto Mobley Road. The driver was arrested for speeding and attempting to elude.

Sodomy
April 21, 2007
McCumber Street, Walthourville
Deputies responded to a home where a couple was hosting a party. A female at the residence told authorities she had been drinking with a man and they both passed out. She said she awoke to find him sexually assaulting her and he refused to stop. The man reportedly left the house before deputies arrived. The woman was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

Aggravated assault
April 21, 2007
East Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville
A man was walking a woman to her car in front of Phat Katz Bar when another man approached him and hit him on the side of the head with a pistol, and then stomped on his head when he fell to the ground. The complainant went to Winn Army Community Hospital’s emergency room for treatment. The case remains under investigation.

A man reported his brother burned his favorite chair. The brother, who was intoxicated, reportedly told police the chair was possessed and had to be destroyed.
