Hinesville police are investigating after a fight resulted in several shots being fired around 9 p.m. Oct. 27 at Pineland Square Apartments.

No one was injured, according to a Hinesville Police Department report.

Multiple witnesses said two men were involved in the fight, and the shooting occurred less than 10 minutes after the altercation. One witness told police the incident started after one man offered $10 for a ride and the other man told him no one would give him a ride. That escalated into a fight between the two men, the report said.

Police found at least one bullet hole in a window at one of the apartments, according to the incident report, and witnesses described hearing multiple gunshots. The report said there were a number of children in the apartments as well.

The apartment complex was also the site of a triple shooting in August, according to police, that sent three people to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Two suspects, Michael Cansler, 17, and Troy Vencent Howard, were arrested and charged with aggravated assault and other charges for that shooting, which HPD described as the result of a "feud," which escalated.
