The woman killed in a crash on I-95 Saturday has been identified as Emily Grubb, 19 from Poolesville, MD, and officials say she was apparently distracted by a text message when the accident happened.
GSP Trooper Lyle Thurmond said the young woman was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from her vehicle. She may have been distracted when she received a text at the time of the accident. She drifted off of the road into the median and apparently over corrected causing, her to lose control.
Liberty County Sheriff Steve Sikes said Saturday that Grubb’s car flipped several times and then landed upsidedown near the Midway exit of the interstate just after 1 p.m.
