Section delayed
Dee McLelland new

The Coastal Courier’s 2020 Graduation Section will be published June 3, 2020 instead of its intended date of May 27, according to Publisher Dee McLelland.

McLelland said the scheduling of several “drive-thru” ceremonies for Liberty and Long county schools dictated the change in publishing dates.

“With the drastic changes in the school year from the problems associated with COVID-19 we have decided to delay the publication so we could include coverage of these once-in-a-lifetime events,” he said. “We understand what a big achievement this is for all of our area seniors and their families and wanted to include, however unusual, all of the events surrounding graduation.

The Courier will be inserting the 2020 Graduation Section in the June 3 edition and souvenir editions will be available for sale in the Coastal Courier office.

“This will be the largest Graduation Section the Coastal Courier has ever published and we anticipate it will be something the community, students and parents will enjoy for a long time to come,” McLelland added.
