The Department of Driver Services announced that the Hinesville Customer Service Center at 2301 Airport Road, Hinesville, has cut the average wait time for customers who visit in person.
In November, the average wait to begin service was four minutes and 40 seconds, a release from the center said.
In addition, DDS driver examiners are serving more customers in person each year as the population in Liberty County and the surrounding area continues to grow. Hinesville driver examiners served 2,022 customers in November.
"One of DDS's highest goals is to provide customers with faster, friendlier and easier services while preserving the integrity of our documents," said DDS Commissioner Greg Dozier. "I am very proud of the improvements in customer service that the Hinesville team has implemented."
Dozier also attributes enhanced online services and improved business processes to the DDS ability to improve service and particularly the wait times. Many customers are able to conduct their business without visiting a center.
Customer service wait times are calculated by measuring the total number of minutes customers statewide waited after being issued a number until they begin the service transaction. This information is collected and analyzed from a computerized customer lobby-management system. The system is used in all 62 licensing centers.
