Gov. Sonny Perdue is reportedly scheduled to visit Hinesville Friday at the Savannah Technical College campus on Airport Road.
Liberty County is one of the six locations participating in a statewide business and housing expo. The local event will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The workshops and exhibits scheduled will help professionals, small business owners and others learn about options for federal and state funding and technical assistance.
“This is a unique opportunity to capitalize on a multitude of resources,” said U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Savannah.  “Whether you are thinking of starting your own business, applying for financial assistance or buying a home, the information provided during at the expo can expose untapped resources that people may not have known existed.”
Various government agency representatives and experts will host the expo and be available for questions.
“In rosy and gloomy economic times, Georgians have worked together to develop innovative solutions that keep our economic engines running,” read Perdue’s press release.
“The expos will bring business, homeownership and government resources together to share information about federal/state and private economic development tools and other resources designed to encourage individuals and businesses to invest in Georgia’s economy and/or pursue homeownership.”
Perdue’s office said Wednesday they could not confirm the governor’s Friday schedule until Thursday afternoon. Several sources in this area, however, have said Perdue will at the Airport Road campus around noon.
