SAVANNAH — Savannah-Chatham police are investigating two shootings, including one that resulted in the area’s 28th homicide this year.
Spokeswoman Gena Moore said the first shooting was called in Friday afternoon and the second was reported in the evening.
Officers responded to the deadly shooting just west
of downtown. A person lying on the sidewalk was seen covered with a white sheet, and the area was closed to traffic as police investigated.
The other shooting occurred southwest of Georgetown. Moore said officers responded at 4:24 p.m., after a resident reported a man with a gunshot wound to the face knocking on doors and asking for help.
She said the man was listed in serious condition. Neither victims’ name was released.
