There is a chance of storms in the area Monday afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service reported the chance is “slight,” but if storms do develop they could be severe.
“Much of the state will see scattered to numerous showers and storms today,” the service’s forecast reads. “Many of these, particularly in central and south Georgia, will be strong or severe. The primary hazards will be damaging winds, large hail, and locally heavy rainfall. North Georgia will begin to see storm activity this morning. The system will progress toward the southeast, impacting central Georgia in the late morning and early afternoon, and reaching southeast Georgia around 2 p.m. A chance of showers and storms will persist this evening and through the overnight hours.”
