Georgia DOT Commissioner Harold Linnenkohl has announced a striping contract awarded in 18 Southeast Georgia counties based on bids received in the June 22 letting.
This contract will improve road markings on 396.8 miles of 61 roads in Liberty, Long and other counties.
DOT engineers researched crashes on city streets and county roads to determine the frequency and severity of crashes. Based on that research roads were selected for this striping project. Selected roads will get new striping based on the road’s width. Roads, 18 feet wide, will get new center lines, 20 feet wide roads will get new centerlines, edgelines and roads wider than 20 feet will get centerlines, edgelines and raised pavement markers.
The striping contract for the 18 counties in SEGA was awarded to Traffic Markings for the $1.29 million.
