SWAT makes drug bust in Allenhurst
cocaine
According to a press release deputies recovered nearly a kilogram of suspected cocaine with an approximate street value of $35,000.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactical unit (SWAT) converged on a mobile home located at the Pebble Creek Mobile Home Park off Wilder Road in Allenhurst the afternoon of June 25.

According to SWAT Commander James Ashdown the SWAT team served search warrants on two mobile homes, one at Pebble Creek and another off Kelly Drive, rented by the same man.

The man was at the Pebble Creek mobile home and was arrested without incident suspected of trafficking narcotics and cocaine.

The man has yet to be identified.

“We are trying to clean up the neighborhood,” Ashdown said. “And using SWAT teams to serve these search warrants takes a lot of the danger away from the beat officer. It gives us more people on the ground. People tend to respect you more and the job goes a lot easier than it would if it were just one or two officers that showed up.”

Ashdown said several charges are pending. According to a press release deputies recovered nearly a kilogram of suspected cocaine with an approximate street value of $35,000. More arrests in this case are anticipated.
