Liberty Regional Medical Center Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tammy Mims has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA).

 Mims will serve as an at-large trustee, where her duties will include working with the Board to develop strategies for GHA hospital members, advocate for the highest quality care for patients, and support adequate reimbursement for hospitals.

 Mims has served as CEO of Liberty Regional since 2019. Prior to serving in this position, she served as CEO of Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazlehurst and COO of Effingham Health System in Springfield. She has extensive experience in hospital operations, developing systems of accountability and implementing strategic initiatives. She began her health care career at Memorial Health in Savannah as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and served in many leadership capacities, including Senior Vice President of hospital operations.

“Tammy Mims is an experienced leader with a passion for improving health care for all Georgians,” said GHA President and CEO Earl Rogers. “She brings a wealth of knowledge to the GHA Board, and we look forward to her service.”

Mims holds a Master of Healthcare Administration and is a Certified Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma. She also served as a consultant with various Third Party Administration firms responsible for insurance negotiation settlements.
