The Liberty County Manna House will host a Taste of Hinesville at the Liberty County Performing Arts Center, 2140 E. Oglethorpe Highway, Aug. 31.
From seafood to southern dishes to barbecue and desserts, there’s something to please every palate at Taste of Hinesville.
“We are in need and some of Hinesville’s favorite restaurants have stepped up to participate in this first annual event to benefit the Manna House,” Executive Director, the Reverend Katrina Deason said.
“They are serving up culinary delights and comfort food to make everybody happy. Taste of Hinesville is about good food, family fun, friends and fellowship.”
The family-friendly-date-night-out event will feature music, tasting competitions and lots of food.
It will benefit the purchase of soup kitchen equipment to make cooking and serving daily meals at the soup kitchen more efficient, Deason explained.
According to Deason, there are about 50 people, sometimes families, eating a hot meal each day at the Manna House Soup Kitchen.
“Workers are keeping the service going to meet the needs that have not stopped even while plans for a new facility are being worked out,” she said.
The old building was torn down in June, and a new building is expected to be erected in the next 90 days.
“We haven’t missed a beat and I’m grateful for the continued support of the community,” Deason said.
Taste of Hinesville is from 6 -8 p.m. Tickets are $12 and are available now. For more information contact Deason at 912-368-3660.
