An accident on interstate 95 in Liberty County has resulted in a fatality Wednesday morning.

According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Christopher Ashdown, GSP was notified of a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 northbound on mile marker 70 with injuries.

Ashdown said a be on the lookout was issued earlier for a white Nissan Altima driving recklessly. The driver of the Nissan lost control and crashed, coming to a stop in the left northbound lane. 

The driver of a Dodge Ram stopped to provided assistance to the driver of the Nissan. A third motorist driving a Toyota Tundra struck the Dodge Ram in the rear, causing a chain reaction.

The driver of the Tundra, who sustained injuries, was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville. He was pronounced deceased while being transported by ambulance.

Ashdown said the driver of the Nissan Altima was flown to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah by Lifestar. 

The driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured.
