Amir and Cynthia Camp were arrested and charged with malice murder after the death of 2-year-old Serenity Belue.

According to a press release from the City of Hinesville, at approximately 12:24 p.m. on Friday, March 8, an officer of the Hinesville Police Department, along with Hinesville Fire First Responders and Liberty County E.M.S., responded to 719 Robin Hood Drive in reference to an unresponsive child.

At the residence, first responders observed the lifeless body of Belue.  HPD detectives responded and a death investigation began with the assistance of the Liberty County Coroner’s Office.

On Monday, March 11, an autopsy was performed at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Savannah.  Results of the autopsy lead to the arrest of Amir and Cynthia Camp for the offense of malice murder. Amir is the step-father to Belue and Cynthia is the mother.

Amir and Cynthia Camp were arrested March 20, and are being held at the Liberty County Jail. Their bond has been denied.

Kevin Larson, Fort Stewart Public Communications Chief, confirmed that Amir Camp is an active duty military member: “Specialist Amir Camp, a 3rd Infantry Division Soldier, was arrested in connection with the death of his minor dependent. Spc. Camp has been assigned to Fort Stewart since May 2017. The case remains under investigation.”
