Backing our police is what we should be doing

Dear Editor,

When something goes terribly wrong in our community, who do we turn to? Who do we call? When it comes to me and my family’s safety, I call the police. I count on our local law enforcement officers to help and, in my humble opinion, I think they do a great job.

I feel compelled to say this so publicly because of the discourse currently going on across the country with regard to the brave men and women in blue. After the tragedy that happened in Minnesota, it seems that the left is bowing to the radical portion of their base and working against our law enforcement community.

So where do we go from here? Onward, I’d say. The President’s recent Executive Order on police reform was an incredible step, though, of course, the left has still yet to acknowledge it. I think as a community, we should also rally around our law enforcement officers, reminding them that we support them and are thankful for the work they do to protect us.
