"Good trouble, necessary trouble." That is how I imagine the late great Congressman John Lewis recognizing the John Lewis Day of Action. Saturday, May 8, 2021, is a day of empowerment not only as a community but as a nation as we join together to become the force against one of the biggest obstacles to our civil rights -- voter suppression. The John Lewis Day of Action is our call to action sparking public outcry to restore the effectiveness of the Voting Rights Act while addressing the other elephant in the room, the filibuster.
