Keep Liberty Beautiful

Volunteers are the heartbeat of every successful community program, and at Keep Liberty Beautiful, that heartbeat continues to grow stronger each year. From planting trees and gardens to organizing cleanups and recycling events, thousands of volunteers have rolled up their sleeves to make Liberty County a cleaner, greener, and brighter place to live.

On Thursday, May 27, Keep Liberty Beautiful will honor those dedicated individuals during its annual Volunteer Celebration at the Stafford Pavilion from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The event will celebrate the time, talents, and commitment volunteers have shared with the program from July 1, 2025, through the present year. This year’s theme, “Boots On The Ground,” recognizes the hardworking volunteers who consistently step up to serve their community. Guests are encouraged to join in the fun by wearing their favorite western outfit to the celebration.

The evening will provide an opportunity for volunteers and community partners to connect, celebrate accomplishments, and share experiences from the many projects completed throughout the year. It will also serve as a reminder that real community change happens when people are willing to take action.

A volunteer is often defined simply as someone who gives their time without receiving pay, but volunteers are much more than that. They are changemakers who create hope and positive opportunities throughout the community. Volunteers believe their actions matter, and they focus on doing the work needed to improve the world around them.

Keep Liberty Beautiful volunteers embody that spirit every day. This year alone, more than 3,676 volunteers partnered with Keep Liberty Beautiful to support environmental and beautification efforts throughout Liberty County. Volunteers planted gardens and trees, helped residents create mobile gardens, conducted litter cleanups, and participated in recycling programs and educational events.

KLB volunteers also worked closely with schools, churches, youth programs, municipalities, businesses, and civic organizations to teach others how to protect and improve the environment. Through these partnerships, volunteers continue the ongoing fight against litter while encouraging community pride and environmental stewardship.

Their efforts are a major reason why the Keep Liberty Beautiful program continues to receive recognition and awards year after year.

The Keep Liberty Beautiful program is all about volunteers. They are the heart of what we do, and we are grateful every day to work alongside people who care so deeply about our community.

Our Advisory Board and volunteers are the true boots on the ground in Liberty County. They don’t wait for change to happen. They make it happen! Every cleanup, every tree planted, every garden built, and every hour served helps create a healthier and more beautiful community for future generations.

Many people believe they do not have enough time to volunteer, but KLB leaders say that is often not the case. Some of the busiest people in Liberty County still make time to serve because they are passionate about making a difference.

As author Elizabeth Andrew once said, “Volunteers don’t necessarily have the time. They have the heart.”

That quote perfectly reflects the spirit of Keep Liberty Beautiful volunteers. They make the time because they care about their community and the people who call it home.

All volunteers who participated this year are invited to attend the appreciation event. KLB hopes the celebration will not only recognize current volunteers but also inspire others to learn more about opportunities to get involved.

Keep Liberty Beautiful welcomes volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Volunteer opportunities are available on the second and fourth Fridays at the KLB office, providing residents with an easy way to support ongoing projects and programs.

Anyone interested in attending the Volunteer Celebration or learning more about volunteer opportunities can contact Keep Liberty Beautiful at (912) 880-4888 or by email at klcb@libertycountyga. gov In preparation for the annual recognition program, Keep Liberty Beautiful is also reminding all Adopt Liberty Groups to submit cleanup data to Mrs. Amanda by May 21.

Information from July 1, 2025, through the present is needed to complete the organization’s yearend report and volunteer group recognitions.

As another successful year of service comes to a close, Keep Liberty Beautiful extends its appreciation to every Advisory Board Member, Volunteer, partner, and supporter who has helped improve Liberty County.

Your boots on the ground continue to make a lasting difference.
