Letter to the editor: Another successful Walk-A-Thon
Letter to the Editor generic

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Seven Ministries of Liberty County, Inc., I want to thank everyone for their continued support of the Jackie Gilliard-Henderson Memorial Scholarship Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser.

Our walk was held on May 21, 2022, and fun was had by all. We were blessed to have over 125 participants; some came from as far away as Virginia Beach, Virginia; Tampa, Florida; Columbus, Georgia; and several from the metro Atlanta area.

Special thanks to the co-grand marshalls that attended; special thanks to my church, First Calvary Missionary Baptist; and a very special thanks to Carolyn Smith-Carter for allowing us to use our slice of paradise that we affectionally call Rebecca’s Place as our setup location.

The funds raised will allow us once again to reach out into our community and provide temporary benevolent services that we refer to as “a shot in the arm” for those in need. We will also continue efforts to serve our senior citizens, our youth, and the downtrodden.

The Lord has blessed our ministry of giving, and while depending on the kindness of strangers makes what we do possible, we don’t consider any of our supporters as strangers, but instead we’re supported by a host of family and friends.

Let’s do this again next May!

May God continue to bless each of you is our most sincere prayer.

Gary Gilliard President/CEO, Seven Ministries of Liberty County, Inc.
