Letter to the editor: Retired Army veteran fighting for education
Letter to the Editor generic

Dear Editor,

My name is Robert Freeman, and I am a 23-year Army veteran, a loving husband of 18 years, and a father of four children. In November 2011, the Army relocated me to Liberty County, and we have made Hinesville our home.

I am an active member of the community, volunteering with Keep Liberty Beautiful and other programs, coaching multiple sports and mentoring youth with the Liberty County Recreational Department, and assisting in any way I can. I am running for Liberty County School Board District 6 so that I can work to improve the lives of our children and future generations.

My objectives are straightforward, but they have the potential to have a significant impact on teachers, staff, students and parents. My three main objectives are as follows:

 1. Provide a means for teachers to address issues without fear of retaliation.

2. Expand sports in middle school to give athletes more opportunities to succeed rather than waiting until high school, when they are already behind.

3. How to address bullying in order to empower students and teachers and instill trust in the system.

Any funds raised will be used to get my name and message out to as many constituents in my district and county as possible so that everyone understands who I am and what I stand for.

Robert Freeman. Hinesville
