No dog in this fight, but still

Editor:

The headline in the Sunday edition “Association honors two Hinesville officials” seems to me a bit misleading.

According to my Google dictionary honor means: regard with great respect, or fulfill (an obligation) or keep (an agreement).

Insofar as elected officials are required to attend this training perhaps the article should have been captioned — “Hinesville officials honor the terms of their election”.

And with all the brouhaha reported surrounding the recent suspension of the city manager without providing reasons, perhaps they missed a portion of the training or maybe need some sort of refresher training to properly fulfill their obligations as city council members.

Then again after moving out of the city almost 2 decades ago, figure I really don’t have a dog in this fight.
Just saying.
