Editor,

The board of directors of Seven Ministries of Liberty County, Inc. would like to thank the community for its continued support of our non-profit organization. We are a true community organization but we’re nothing without you, our supporters. 2016 was another banner year! This past weekend we purchased and delivered nearly 350 turkeys and hams to deserving senior citizens throughout Liberty County and we thank God for allowing us to show love to this segment of our population.

The year began in May with our annual fund raiser, The Jackie Gilliard-Henderson Memorial Scholarship Walk-A-Thon. The proceeds from this event come from you (the community) and along with pledges from our 15 board members throughout the year help to make the things we do possible. The eight graduating public high school seniors that received scholarships have you to thank. The students that attended our Back-to-School Rally and received school supplies have you to thank. Everyone that we helped through our associations with the Manna House, church food banks, assistance with utility bills and temporary hotels stays, and The Homeless Coalition have you to thank. The school aged students that need rides and tickets for high school sporting events have you to thank. Even the down on their luck unemployed that continue to struggle with alcohol and substance abuse but are willing to clean up yards for senior citizens have you to thank.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring, but if 2017 is anything like this past year Seven Ministries will once again roll up our sleeves and do our best to serve the community in which we live. From the bottom of your hearts, we thank our corporate sponsors (they know who they are), pastors and local churches, civic organizations, family, friends and The Home Team from Azalea Street for their undying love and support.

That God may bless each of you is our most sincere prayer.

Gary Gilliard
President and CEO, Seven Ministries of Liberty County, Inc.
