The battle is on for our country’s soul
Letter to the Editor generic

Dear Editor

People talk about the battle for the soul of our nation, yet the public at large has very little understanding. I can enlighten you on what it is, “the seven deadly sins vs. the seven holy virtues.”

The Powers on High in government gave me the great honor of championing the 7 holy virtues as a test of my love for America nearly 4 decades ago. I have walked the road less traveled to see if they could make me curse America for slavery.

For seven years the people of Fort Walton Beach, Florida watched me go from a small businessman with 26 employees to the clothes on my back. God was my vindicator as I rose to great power in the state.

This year our two candidates for president are total opposites. One represents the end of America as we know it. The other represents the preservations of our nations standing as a world Democracy. Which man will the voters choose? What are the seven deadly sins?

1. Pride 2. Envy 3. Wrath 4. Sloth 5. Greed 6.Gluttony 7. Lust.

The Holy virtues are: 1. Faith, 2. Hope, 3. Charity, 4. Prudence, 5. Temperance, 6. Fortitude, 7. Justice.

The Seven Virtues opposed the Seven Sins (“The Battle for the Soul”). His scheme of virtues and vices looked something like this: Humility cures Pride, Kindness cures Envy, Abstinence cures Gluttony, Chastity cures Lust, Patience cures Wrath, Liberality cures Greed, and Diligence cures Sloth.

I don’t know how we got this point, whereas a simple election is going to take weeks instead of a day. The hand writing is on the wall for the United States of America and the Republic for which it stands. Prepare for battle, it’s voting time!
