The Liberty County Recreation Department's Senior softball All-
Star team was headed to the state tournament in Brunswick Thursday morning and the ladies got a surprise as they waited for their ride. Head coach Tammy Stacy, with help from the other parents, arranged to have a limousine pick up the players who had no idea of the travel arrangements.
When the limousine driver pulled up, several of the girls took notice and commented that “someone
was going to get a fancy ride.”
When the driver backed the limo toward the girls and opened the door the shouts of joy and excitement could be heard across Troop Park.
The team was headed for the double-elimination state tournament where they were scheduled to play a noon. Depending on the outcome they would either play a second game the same day or play sometime today.
The girls wasted no time enjoy-ing the vehicle’s amenities. Taylor Swift’s "Picture to Burn" song blared from the limo's sound system and
the players began to sing along ...
"I hate that stupid little pickup truck you never let me drive... " as the car maneuvered onto Highway 84 toward Brunswick.
